The deadline for Workshop papers is set to be 7 October.
The organizers are requested to send the list of title and authors of submitted papers to SAINT 2005 Workshop Chairs, no later than 8 October. SAINT2005 OC will then promptly allocate the date and length (a full or half day) to each Workshop and inform it to organizers. Organizers will, then, decide how many papers can be accepted for presentation.
The below is the Guidelines for a full or half day:
Since there will be 4 presentations per 1 session,
- 8 presentations (10 papers with 80% acceptance) for a half day,
- 16 presentations (20 papers with 80% acceptance) for a full day. Therefore, when the number of submitted papers is,
- more than 20 >> a full day (or a half day when room is not available),
- 10 to 19 >> a half day,
- less than 9 >> canceled. This is just a guideline, and the decision will be made considering other aspects (e.g., short panel within Workshop).
The organizers are requested to send the accepted list of title, authors and contact e-mail address as well as its session structure to SAINT 2005 Workshop Chairs, no later than 20 October. Follow this form (SAINT2004 Program) for preparing SAINT2005 Workshop session structure. The IEEE-CS press will then promptly send the Authors' Kit to authors.
The deadline for the final manuscript is set to be 1 November.
SAINT2005 OC recognizes that these procedures are so tight and would indeed appreciate cooperation of organizers, reviewers and authors of Workshops. The schedule may be revisited in the future SAINT.
The following should be considered when proposing SAINT2005 Workshops:
Theme should be clearly identified. It should not be so broad, instead be specific to promote condensed and enthusiastic discussions. Theme which will address new areas of studies is highly appreciated.
A Workshop should be open, i.e., its Call For Papers be distributed broadly by organizers to communities of addressed themes.
Workshop papers should be 4 pages as a default. No extra page is allowed. Presentation of a Workshop paper should be 15 min. These are in line with those for Symposium short papers.
A Workshop should hold at least half a day, i.e., 2 sessions. It can hold a full day, i.e., 4 sessions, but not exceeds a full day. A short panel and/or overview will be appreciated to improve Worskshop discussions.
Submitted papers should be reviewed. A suggested acceptance ratio is 60-80 %. For information, SAINT Symposium has been operating the acceptance ratio of 30% since the beginning. Workshop organizers are requested to report the number of submitted papers and accepted papers to SAINT2005 Organizing Committee.
Please check Workshops schedule as indicated in the SAINT2005 Call For Papers.
Due to the room limitation, not all Workshop proposals may be accepted.
Considering guidelines above, please submit the Workshop proposal, including the material below, to Workshop Chairs;
